    केंद्रीय तिब्बती अध्ययन विश्वविद्यालय, सारनाथ, वाराणसी द्वारा विश्व पर्यटन दिवस (19 सितंबर 2017) के क्रियान्वयन पर स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा के अंतर्गत विश्वविद्यालय के छात्र-छात्राओं द्वारा विश्वविद्यालय का मुख्य द्वार पर “स्वच्छता के बढ़ते कदम” नामक नुक्कड़ नाटक का मंचन

  • A Symposium on Sacred Geometry and Design in Nature: An Interplay of Art, Science and Philosophy from 25 - 26th October 2017

    Continuing to the tradition of dialogue, and sharing of knowledge on fundamental questions of nature and reality, CUTS organized two day Symposium on Sacred Geometry and Design in Nature: An Interplay of Art, Science and Philosophy on 25th and 26th October 2017, in collaboration with Centre for Indic and Agamic Studies in Asia, Delhi and National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. The idea of such an interdisciplinary dialogue on Sacred Geometry used in different faith systems and Design in Nature and Science was implemented to provide a common platform to the Scientist, Philosophers and Practitioners of different school of thoughts for discussing their view points on the topics.

  • Seven Days Course in Indian Epistemology (Buddhism, Jainism and Carvaka) conducted by Prof. P.P.Gokhale

    A seven days short term course on Indian Epistemology (Buddhism, Jainism, Carvaka) was organized from 4th to 11th September 2017 from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily, excluding 10th September 2017 Sunday. Sixteen outstation participants including the scholars of Bayreuth University, Germany and some other scholars of different institutions of Germany, scholars from different parts of India and the interested faculty members, research scholars and students of the University attended the course.

    स्वतंत्र भारत के भौगोलिक तथा राजनैतिक स्वरूप को वर्तमान आकार देने वाले नेतृत्व के अग्रणी तथा अपनी दूरदृष्टि व दृढ़ इच्छाशक्ति के कारण लौहपुरुष व भारत के बिस्मार्क के नाम से सुविख्यात भारत के प्रथम उप-प्रधानमंत्री व गृहमंत्री, सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल की जयन्ती- राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस- के अवसर पर सरदार साहब के व्यक्तित्व व कृतित्व पर चर्चा करने तथा विश्वविद्यालय के छात्र-छात्राओं को उनके जीवन दर्शन से अवगत कराने हेतु केन्द्रीय तिब्बती अध्ययन विश्वविद्यालय, सारनाथ, वाराणसी के अतिश सभागार में दिनांक 31 अक्टूबर 2017 को एक दिवसीय विद्वत संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया गया ।

Welcome to Central University Of Tibetan Studies

The Central University of Tibetan Studies (CUTS) at Sarnath is one of its kinds in the country.The university was established in 1967. The idea of the university was mooted in course of a dialogue between Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and His Holiness the Dalai Lama with a view to educating the young Tibetan Diaspora and those from the Himalayan border regions of India, who have religion, culture and language in common with Tibet.

Originally called Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), it began functioning as a constituent wing of the Sampurnananda Sanskrit University, and eventually emerged as an autonomous body in 1977 under the Department of Culture, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
